Chief People & Places Officer, Lloyds Banking Group
Sharon Doherty is the Chief People & Places Officer at Lloyds Banking Group, where she leads the Group’s People & Places agenda in service of the organisation’s purpose of Helping Britain Prosper. Since joining in June 2022, Sharon has been instrumental in shaping a culture that empowers more than 60,000 colleagues to thrive, innovate, and deliver for the Group’s 28 million customers. Her leadership is central to one of the most significant transformation programmes in UK financial services today.
A recognised champion of people-centred transformation, Sharon has a proven track record of driving cultural change, digital innovation, and large-scale organisational redesign. Before joining Lloyds Banking Group, she served as Chief People & Places Officer at Finastra, one of the world’s leading FinTechs, and previously as Global HR Director for Technology at Vodafone, where she led award-winning work on digital capability and diversity in technology.
Her earlier career spans senior roles at Laing O’Rourke, BAA Heathrow (Terminal 5), GE Capital, PwC, Kingfisher, and Marks & Spencer, giving her deep cross-sector experience across complex, global organisations.
In addition to her executive role, Sharon serves as a Non-Executive Director at Allwyn UK, operator of the National Lottery, where she is Chair of both the Remuneration Committee and the Nomination Committee. Her portfolio reflects her commitment to strong governance, talent stewardship, and social purpose.
Sharon is widely recognised for her leadership in inclusion, future skills, workforce transformation, and the future of work. A mother and published author, Sharon is passionate about creating workplaces with inclusive cultures that unlock potential.
