David Rowlands

David Rowlands is the Global Head of AI at KPMG. In his role, David is tasked with implementing KPMG's AI strategy, applying emerging AI technologies to enhance client engagements and the employee experience in a way that is responsible, trustworthy and

safe. This includes equipping all 270,000 colleagues with the latest AI tooling, developing robust AI solutions for our clients across Audit, Tax & Legal and Advisory, and building a global AI immersion programme to enable colleagues to leverage the benefits of AI.

Prior to being Global Head of AI, David was the Head of Consulting for KPMG UK from 2017 to 2023. He served on the UK Executive Committee from November 2015 to December 2023.

David has also led KPMG’s own business transformation programme as the firm’s Chief Transformation Officer, as well as leading Management Consulting for Corporates, and heading up Technology for Sectors.

He has a substantive track record advising on and delivering high-profile, large scale business transformation programmes for FTSE 100 companies, across a number of different industries including FMCG, Financial, Utilities and Government.

David specialises in helping his clients develop their vision and strategy, setting their programmes up for success and partnering with them to implement their planned transformational outcomes.

Prior to joining KPMG as a Partner in 2009, David worked at Accenture for 13 years after starting his career at Proctor & Gamble. David lives in Edinburgh with his wife and three children. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain climbing, rock climbing, ice climbing and bouldering.
